There are events that cannot be currently explained by the rational cause-and-effect evidence method. Practitioners of such arts are present all over Nigeria. More specifically in the Muslim sub-set of Yoruba culture, I am aware that this tension between holding on to Ifa/Shango and monotheistic (Tawhidi) worship of Allah, an unseen Deity, creates fissures between generations. Usually newer generations are increasingly Tawhidi (monotheistic). On the other hand, the old seek to impress on them that Yoruba Mythology will always prevail.

This writer falls into the Tawhidi subset. My position is that Allah does indeed cause to happen events that cannot be currently rationally explained by cause-and-effect evidence methods. However I also say the fact that there is currently no rational explanation does NOT mean that there would not be any in future.

We only need to allow time for the body of human knowledge and technology to catch up. For example we can now explain previously assumed mysterious phenomena like 'Albinism' and 'Abikou' (repeated deaths of infants born to the same couple). These events can be attributed to genetic mutations leading to Melanin deficiency or Sickle Cell red blood cells arising from chance recessive combination of Parents' genes.

Belief in demonology and occultism go ill together with notions of empirical growth, development and progress, attributes one easily associates with Akin Osuntokun.

Should politics be the only subject of discourse in a society and what in Akin's past warrants the suspicion of his fidelity to good governance or good conduct in public office?

Or has he taken some oath that holds sound mind hostage and perpetually afraid of dissent? Perhaps, in the spirit of being his brother's keeper, like every notable elite in Yorubaland, he has opted to stand on Emilokan's illegitimate mandate?

How else does one explain Akin's unforced (or was it?) but cleverly crafted escapist voyage into demonology, the mundane and the occult world lately, including delving into Yoruba's well known tripodal devotion, albeit slimily, to Christianity, Islam and Ifa while there were numerous burning national issues that would ordinarily engage his fecund mind?

In any case, one shouldn't rule out anything from those to whom "treachery" is a second nature. Who knows, Akin might just be positioning himself for a top offer from Emilokan's Oduduwanistan government? After all, before any other thing else, man must wack! So, Akin could be playing safely! Who wouldn't?

My refrain; Is Akin under a spell or something? Waiting to be proved otherwise!

And ask Thisday, what has happened to Shaka Momudu??
